One scan. One tab. No card handoff.

FUNC Pay is being designed to let guests connect a payment method once, use a phone or venue-issued wristband throughout the night, and handle tips, receipts, and closeout digitally.

FUNC Pay is in development. It cannot process bar transactions today, and POS integrations, NFC support, and automatic closeout are planned rather than operational.

    The friction today

The card handoff is still the slowest part of the bar.

A guest hands over a card or a phone. It travels to a terminal. A slip prints. A signature happens. The card comes back — or gets left behind at close. Meanwhile the venue ends the night with a pile of transactions that can't be connected to who was actually in the room or who brought them.

    Traditional workflow

Card or phone handoff → terminal → receipt → signature → return

Scan credential → add order → continue serving → digital tip and receipt

    How it's being designed

The planned night, end to end.

    1. 1Connect once

Planned: the guest connects a payment method and activates their credential.

    2. 2Scan the credential

Planned: the bartender scans a phone QR code or venue-issued wristband.

    3. 3Add the order

Planned: items go onto the open tab; the bartender keeps serving.

    4. 4Tip and receipt

Planned: digital tip and itemized receipt on the guest's device.

    5. 5Close out

Planned: guest-controlled or venue-controlled closeout, plus automatic closeout at a disclosed time.

    6. 6Reconcile

Planned: venue reporting and audit logs, with POS integration on the roadmap.

    Planned capabilities

Built for guests, bartenders, and the people reconciling it after.

    Planned

    Secure payment connection

Planned: guests connect a payment method once through Stripe. Card details stay tokenized with the payment provider — FUNC never stores card numbers or CVC.

    Planned

    Preauthorized tabs

Planned: a preauthorized venue tab with a live balance the guest can see all night.

    Planned

    Digital tipping

Planned: tipping handled on the guest's own device instead of a paper slip and a pen.

    Planned

    Digital, itemized receipts

Planned: itemized receipts delivered digitally, with the full order history on the tab.

    Planned

    Lost credential deactivation

Planned: a lost phone or wristband can be deactivated and replaced without closing the guest's night.

    Planned

    Venue controls and audit

Planned: role-based staff permissions, refund and void workflows, automatic closeout at a disclosed time, and transaction audit logs.

    Planned

    POS integrations

Planned: an integration layer so FUNC Pay activity reconciles with the point of sale the venue already runs.

    Planned

    Guest intelligence link

Planned: tab activity feeds venue-scoped guest profiles and promoter-to-spend attribution inside FUNC Venue.

It begins with the ticket you already sell.

FUNC already handles ticketing, promoter attribution and commission payouts, VIP and table tiers, and rotating QR check-in — live today. FUNC Pay is being designed as the next link in that chain, so venue spend can eventually be connected back to the event, the promoter, and the guest. Know who brought every guest, what they spent, and how to bring them back.
